Configure pricing policies
Set the usual rates in Settings → Pricing. Vehicle classes share these rates, while individual vehicles and bookings can have their own agreed prices.
For a change to one booking, use Pricing on a booking.
Set a class rate and deposit
- In Vehicle Class Pricing, find the class. If it does not exist yet, click Add Class, enter its name and click Add.
- Enter the Daily Rate and Deposit. Add an hourly rate if you offer hourly rentals.
- Click Save on that class’s card.
A new class is saved once you save its pricing. Make sure the vehicles that should use it have that Vehicle Class assigned in their edit form.
The deposit is refundable money held separately from rent. Entering a default does not collect it. See Payments and deposits.
Offer rates for longer or shorter rentals
Open Advanced on the class card.
- Under Duration Tiers, click Add Tier and set the minimum days and daily rate. The matching tier supplies the daily rate for the rental, rather than charging the first days at one tier and later days at another.
- Under Booking Rules, set Min Rental Days if shorter bookings should still be billed for a minimum number of days. Public booking pages also use this as their minimum offered duration.
- Enable hourly pricing and set Switch to daily after to control when an hourly period becomes a full day. Longer bookings can combine whole days and remaining hours.
For example, a €60 daily rate with a 7-day tier at €50/day gives a 3-day rental a €180 vehicle charge and a 7-day rental a €350 vehicle charge, before add-ons, fees and tax.
Mileage Tiers control daily distance allowances separately from price tiers. Their thresholds use the booked calendar days. See Distance allowances.
Click Save on the class card after editing its advanced settings.
Add seasonal and demand adjustments
Under Pricing Seasons, click Add Season or Add First Season. Enter a name, dates and multiplier, choose the classes it applies to, then click Create Season. Enable yearly recurrence if the same period should repeat.
A multiplier of 1.20 raises the applicable rate by 20%. A multiplier of 0.90 lowers it by 10%. Daily pricing applies the relevant adjustment to each rental day, so a booking that crosses a season boundary can have different daily rates.
For example, a €50/day rate with 3 ordinary days and 2 days at 1.20 costs €270 for the vehicle: €150 plus €120. Nomora may show the resulting average rate on the booking.
For overlapping seasons, the usual setting uses the season with the highest Priority. If your organization has season multiplication enabled, overlapping multipliers combine. Check an overlapping date in the simulator before publishing the price.
The class’s Advanced settings also offer demand thresholds, day-of-week multipliers, and a price floor or ceiling. Demand pricing adjusts rates when class fleet utilization meets a configured threshold. Floors and ceilings limit the unit rate after adjustments.
Give one vehicle a flat price
Open the vehicle’s edit form and its Pricing tab. Expand Advanced: Per-Vehicle Price Override, enable Override class pricing for this vehicle, enter its rates and save the vehicle.
The flat rates replace class pricing for that vehicle. Duration tiers, seasonal and demand adjustments do not apply. Turn the override off to return to class pricing.
Configure advance payments and deposits
Open Settings → Channels → Global → Payments & deposit.
For each class, choose an Advance Type: no advance payment, percentage or fixed amount. Set the advance, Full Pay ≤ (days) for bookings close to pickup, and Balance Due (days) for the remaining payment deadline. Click Save changes.
The advance pays part of the rental. The security deposit stays separate. Set its class default in Pricing; use the insurance deposit rules in Global if different cover should require a different deposit. A class-specific insurance rule overrides the organization-wide rule, which overrides the class default. An explicit zero means no deposit for that rule.
To collect the deposit with the first online payment, enable Collect security deposit upfront in Settings → Payments and save. Collect or record a payment explains the provider and manual payment paths.
Add fees, discounts and tax
Configure offered equipment and add-ons in Channels → Global. Set pickup and return fees in Pick-up & return locations there. A booking can include both fees.
In Pricing, Create Promo Code lets you choose a fixed or percentage discount, eligible classes, validity dates and a usage limit. Check whether the discount should apply to the vehicle rental only.
At checkout a customer can combine one percentage code with one fixed-amount code. The percentage comes off first, then the fixed amount, and the total never drops below zero. Two codes of the same type cannot be combined.
Choose VAT handling in Pricing and save the settings:
| Choice | What the customer pays |
|---|---|
| Prices include VAT | The listed price already contains VAT |
| Prices exclude VAT, add it on invoices only | Booking payments use the listed price; VAT is added when generating the invoice |
| Prices exclude VAT, add it at customer payment | VAT is added to the rental price when the customer pays; invoices use the same treatment |
Set the tax rate used on Nomora-issued invoices. The tax name can be changed for your organization, but changing its name does not add another tax. Custom charges are entered as the full amount to collect, as explained in booking pricing.
Check the price before sending it
In Pricing Simulator, select the class and rental dates, then click Simulate Quote. Review the per-day or per-hour breakdown and active adjustments. Test a short rental, a tier boundary and a seasonal overlap.
Finally, check the actual booking’s Pricing card with its selected add-ons and locations before sending the customer link. Changing a default does not directly rewrite an existing booking’s saved price.
