Long-term rentalsRecord a period payment

Record a period payment

Use this flow when an open-ended rental’s customer pays by bank transfer, cash or another method outside automatic card billing. Recording a receipt does not collect money from the customer.

Add the receipt

  1. Open the booking and go to Payments → Add payment.
  2. Keep the type as Payment for rent. Use Deposit only for the refundable deposit.
  3. Check the amount and Covers period. Nomora suggests the next unpaid period and its amount. The 1 week or 1 month preset uses that period, rather than starting again from the rental’s first day.
  4. Enter the payment date and select the actual payment method. Add a bank reference or note when useful.
  5. Save, then check the new row, Paid through, Next due and the remaining amount on the booking.

For a weekly rental at €140 starting on Monday 5 October, the first suggested payment covers 5 to 11 October, inclusive. After that period is paid, the next period begins on 12 October. Recording the receipt date as 8 October does not change the rental’s Monday billing schedule.

When the paid-through date stays the same

A payment below the recurring period amount can remain in the payment list without advancing Paid through. Nomora shows a message when this applies. Check both the amount still due and the payment’s coverage before treating that period as settled.

The paid-through date follows an unbroken sequence of covered periods. Paying a later period does not fill an earlier unpaid gap. Deposits, deposit returns and compensation do not cover rent.

Use a custom coverage range only when it matches the agreed period you are recording. The End day in the picker is inclusive. Editing the dates alone does not recalculate the amount on an open-ended payment, so review both before saving.

Fix a recorded payment

Use the payment row’s edit action to correct its amount, date, method or coverage, then check the balance again. Delete a duplicate receipt only if your role allows it. Editing or deleting a manual record does not refund an online payment.

If you also issue invoices, keep their status consistent with the receipt. Marking an invoice paid does not create this payment record.
