Unlimited Mileage Add-on
Offer unlimited mileage as a priced option next to your limited rate. It is a rental item with one extra setting, so it is priced, assigned to classes, chosen by customers, and invoiced exactly like any other add-on — and a booking that carries it is never charged for extra distance.
Create the Add-on
- Open Fleet → Equipment → Rental Items and click Add Item.
- Name it (e.g. Unlimited mileage), keep Per day pricing, and enter the surcharge per day (e.g. €50).
- In the Unlimited mileage section, enable This add-on grants unlimited mileage.
- Save.
The surcharge is the difference between your unlimited and limited rates. For a class priced €100/day with a 300 km/day allowance, a €50/day add-on makes the unlimited option €150/day. Attach a pricing model to the item if the surcharge should step down on longer rentals.
Only one item per organization can grant unlimited mileage. When one exists, the setting is not offered on other items, and its quantity is always 1 — the Quantity Selection section is hidden.
Offer It on Vehicle Classes
Assign the item to each class that offers unlimited mileage in Settings → Channels → Global → Add-ons & insurance, as equipment. Mark it Required on a class to make that class unlimited-only.
Once assigned, customers can pick it on the booking link and in the guest book, and you can add it in the booking form or when editing a booking.
During the Rental
- Check-out: the Mileage Allowance section shows Unlimited mileage instead of the allowance and overage-price fields. Nothing to fill in.
- Check-in: the odometer is still recorded, the Mileage Summary says the mileage is unlimited, and no overage is added to the booking.
- Documents:
{kmAllowancePerDay}and{includedKm}print Unlimited (in the document’s language);{pricePerExtraKm}prints a dash. - Invoices: the add-on appears as a normal add-on line.
The unlimited terms are locked onto the booking at check-out, like any allowance. Removing the add-on afterwards does not restore a limit — use Edit Allowance on the booking page if that is what you mean. While the add-on is attached, the allowance cannot be edited; remove the add-on first.
Price per Extra Km on the Class
The limited baseline no longer needs per-vehicle setup. In Settings → Pricing, expand the class, open Advanced → Mileage Tiers, and set Price per extra km under the tiers. It applies to every vehicle in the class; a price set on an individual vehicle is used only when the class has none. At check-out the pre-filled overage price follows the same order: a value you type, then the class, then the vehicle.
