Capture a vehicle inspection
An inspection saves a walk-around’s photos with the vehicle so your team can review its condition. Nomora checks the photos for possible damage; you review the findings, which update the condition report for the customer.
This animated walkthrough uses fictional data and shortened capture and analysis times. Download the English transcript .
Choose where to start
You need permission to manage vehicles to start a staff inspection.
| Starting point | What it records |
|---|---|
| Inspections → New inspection | A standalone inspection. Nomora tries to match the number plate in the photos to a vehicle. |
| A vehicle’s Inspect button | A standalone inspection linked to that vehicle. |
| A booking’s Inspect at pickup or Inspect at return button | An inspection linked to the booking, its assigned vehicle and the selected stage. |
For a rental handover, start from the booking so the inspection belongs to that rental. The booking must have an assigned vehicle.
On a computer, scan the QR code or copy the link to your phone. Sign in on the phone with the same account if asked. The link carries the vehicle, booking and stage you selected.
Take the photos
- Allow camera access. Follow the introduction, tap Next, then Start walk-around. Allow motion access if prompted.
- Start at the front and walk slowly around the whole vehicle. Keep it in frame. Nomora captures photos as you move; follow the progress ring and slow down if the screen asks you to.
- Tap Finish when the walk-around control allows it.
- Take close-ups of visible damage with the shutter button. Include enough surrounding bodywork to show where the damage is. Tap Done when you have finished, or to continue without close-ups.
- Keep the page open while the photos upload and Nomora creates the inspection. The staff flow then opens the inspection for analysis and review.
Include a clear number plate in a standalone inspection so Nomora can match the vehicle. Check the match during review, especially if the plate was obscured or unreadable.
If capture or upload stops
If the camera cannot open, allow camera access in the browser and use Try the camera again, or open the link on another phone.
If sending fails, use Try again to send the captured photos. Follow the message on screen: when it says photos are saved on this device, you can resume the draft here. If it says they have not been saved, keep the page open. Unfinished walks may lose photos if you leave, and saved drafts do not move between devices or browsers.
Find the inspection again
Open Inspections and search by vehicle or date, or filter by vehicle and status. Booking-linked and vehicle-linked inspections also appear in the corresponding inspection history.
Analysing means the photo check is still running. Needs review means some findings still need a decision. Reviewed means every finding has a decision. If a vehicle is missing, the inspection shows a separate warning. See review damage and share reports for the remaining steps.
