Configure Adjustable Equipment Add-ons

Use adjustable quantities when customers should be able to choose how many units of an equipment add-on they need, such as child seats, GPS devices, helmets, tools, or other rental extras.

Where to Configure

Go to Vehicles → Equipment → Rental Items, then either create a new item or open an existing one and click Edit Item.

In the item form, scroll to Quantity Selection.

Quantity Selection Settings

1. Enable Let customers choose a quantity
2. Set Maximum quantity if customers should not be able to select all available stock
3. Enable Default quantity to passenger count when the item should naturally match the number of passengers
4. Save the item

These settings are configured per rental item. You can make one add-on adjustable while leaving another fixed.

How It Works for Customers

When the item is available on a customer booking link, customers can adjust the quantity before confirming their booking. The selected quantity is included in the booking summary and price calculation.

If quantity selection is disabled, the item stays fixed at the default quantity.

Examples

• Child seat — let customers choose up to 3 units
• GPS — keep fixed at 1 unit
• Helmet — default quantity from passenger count
• Insurance — leave quantity selection off so it stays fixed

Tips

• Use Maximum quantity for items with limited per-booking availability
• Keep quantity selection off for service fees or fixed-price add-ons
• Make sure the item stock quantity is high enough for the maximum you want to allow
