Dropdown Options for Template Fields
Every {placeholder} in a document template that Nomora can’t fill from the booking becomes a field you type into when you generate the document. When the same few values come up again and again — an insurance package, a fuel policy, the name of the person handing over the car — turn the field into a dropdown. You pick from a list instead of retyping, and everyone on the team spells it the same way.
Options are saved for your organization, not for one booking, so a list you create today is there for every document you generate from then on.
The video shows the whole flow in the Generate Contract modal: click a field, type a value and save it with Add as an option, open the gear icon to manage the list, then pick from the dropdown.
Good to Know
- Allow custom values in the option editor keeps a Custom value… entry at the bottom of the dropdown so you can still type something that isn’t on the list. Untick it when the field must only ever hold a listed value.
- The same lists live under Settings → Documents → Field configuration. There you can also hide a field from the generation modal with the eye icon, or add a custom field for a placeholder that isn’t in any template yet.
- A field with no value prints as its placeholder name in the finished document. Fill or hide any field you don’t need before you continue to signing.
- Options are shared by every template in your organization that uses the same placeholder name. A
{handoverManager}list built on one template also appears on another template that uses{handoverManager}. - Fields that Nomora fills from the booking — customer name, vehicle, dates, prices — can also have options, but the booking value is always pre-selected.
